"Behold, how good and how pleasant it it"

Whenever we see the word “behold” in the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit want us to stop and pay attention to what follows.

The Strong’s Concordance defined “behold” as to see. Webster defined it as to have an in sight. 2. Used imperatively (to express a command) to direct the attention. A synonym of “behold” is to observe.

When we look at the above scripture verse, may it be noteworthy that the Lord has directed our attention to what is good and pleasant. The Holy Scripture has characterized the blessedness of unity. May we capture the beauty of the oneness of the Body of Christ – for there is only one body.

1 Corinthians 12:12 (NKJV) has painted a clear picture for us: “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.”

The New Compact Bible Dictionary defined unity as togetherness of persons and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defined unity as the quality or state of being or being made one: oneness

In all our lives we have experienced the nature of something good and pleasant. These good and pleasant memories have captured a special place in our hearts and minds – we do not ever want these memories to escape from us because they bring smiles to our faces and hearts.

Imagine when we are in a place of unity, it also brings a smile to the heart of God.

Let us define good and pleasant, just so we can be on the same page; Webster defined good as of a favorable character or tendency and defined pleasant as agreeable.

Envision the delight to the Father’s heart when His children are in a place of oneness with each other.

Jesus said in John 17:21(NKJV) “…that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us that the world may believe that You sent Me.”

Unity makes everyone smile.
